A: Of course not, it’s like waiting to shop for the perfect Christmas present just before the shops close on Christmas Eve. If you’ve waited till the last minute, you should go to the Social Security office immediately where they can complete the appeal papers and give you a copy of the appeal forms to show that you have timely filed your appeal. A phone call to your local office is not good enough.
