Can a Long Term Disability Carrier Deny my Claim for Benefits because I can be “Accommodated”?

What a great question! The starting point is to look at the definition of "total disability" in your policy. Some definitions of "total disability" are "unable to perform any job for which you are reasonably qualified or may become qualified because of your education, training or experience." If your claim for disability benefits are denied based on a finding that you can perform sedentary work only with accommodations that can be considered a procedural irregularity contrary to the plain language of the policy.
